2010 41 Hackberry holes
A nice user spoon out of Hackberry or a near species. A common tree in Nebrasksa - at least where I live. The holes where an experiement prior to chip carving. I was wanting something more, but this was not exactly it.

2010 - 40 Apple spreader
Wood from a friend
The spreader is a nice first piece for new carvers since it does not require the scooping motion to create the bowl. I try and keep several on hand for demos and to give to people who want to give spoon carving a try.

2010 - 39 Redbud Frog
I had high hopes for Redbud, but it almost too soft, and the color is too similar to Mulberry. The Spoon however turned out aok with a snake and frog on the handle.

Another piece of walnut firewood. This one has some spalting on the handle. I added a chip carved design. This is a keeper and gets used regulary.
